About Adrian
With more than 18 years of international experience in residential and commercial interior and custom furniture design, Adrian brings to her nationwide clients her unique ability to provide diversity of designs tailored around clients’ specific needs.
Adrian’s influences are truly international in scope. Raised in Mexico, Europe and the United States, her diverse background allows her to design for each specific client’s personality and lifestyle. From classic to contemporary, her projects reflect the great gift she has of blending in cultural elegance and diversity of styles resulting in comfortable, balanced and pleasing finished interiors.
Adrian founded Small Bernal Inc in 2005, after previously enjoying acclaimed success as a Principal of the Decoración Alf in Mexico City. Prior to opening her private practice, she held positions with top ranked international furniture manufacturers including Teknion and Herman Miller (Mexico).
She currently is also the “in house” kitchen and bath cabinet designer for Hardwood Artisans – a high end custom cabinetry and furniture manufacturer, located in Virginia, which provides her with an excellent venue to have her one of a kind designs fabricated to her specifications.
In the past decade, Adrian has published articles on Universal and Barrier Free Design. She is both a Certified Residential Interior Designer and a Certified Aging in Place specialist.
She is a founding member of the Association of Interior Design Professionals (AIDP) and is the former National President. She is also a member of NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) and NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry).
